Backpack Ministry

We can use some small boxes of cereal for the backpacks and soup, tuna and chicken.  Thank you to everyone for their continued support of this ministry.  Your generosity is appreciated.  Each week we put together backpacks of food for the weekend for 12 kids who are on the school lunch and breakfast program at Annette Wynn Elementary School. These are children whose main nutritious meals come from their school breakfast and lunch programs and who, without our help, may not eat well otherwise over the weekend.  Donations can be marked for backpack ministry and left in the acolyte robing room at any time.  If you have any questions please contact Robin Halfon at (770-949-3449) or kalil_1@att.net.

Pavilion Cleanup and Restoration

We need your help in restoring an important piece of St Julian’s life and history!  When the people of what was then St. Chrysostom’s purchased the land on which we now sit – one of the first things they did was build a picnic pavilion and used it for worship.  Later the pavilion became an important part of fellowship and fund raising as they held many activities including a shrimp boil there. The pavilion continued to serve as a fun place for outdoor worship until it was vandalized two years ago and has since become overgrown. On the Sundays in May from May 9th through the 30th we will work on restoring the area so that it can once again be home to worship and fellowship evens during the year. We will need everyone’s help in order to accomplish this. We’ll need people power and power tools to clear undergrowth and pickup trucks to haul away the debris! Sign up in the gathering space to help with project – lunch will be provided!
