Godly Play

Godly Play

Parents and Grandparents, if you know an interested child between the ages of three and twelve, please contact Brittny Ohr (brittny.ohr@gmail.com), if you have any questions.

This is an opportunity for the children to come to a space dedicated to them to experience God in a new way.  For more information about “What is Godly Play“, please view these select videos.  According to the Godly Play Foundation:

Children have an innate sense of the presence of God.

The Godly Play approach helps them to explore their faith through a story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience though wonder and play.

Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiral curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children through early, middle and late childhood and beyond.

How can I get involved to ensure the success of Godly Play?

Become a Story TellerWe would love to have you attend a work session to learn more about how to be a Story Teller. As a Story Teller, you would learn and present a story to the children using the provided materials and props.

Become a Door KeeperAs a Door Keeper, you support all the children as they get ready to join the circle. We would love to have you attend a work session and learn all that is involved.

Furnish the RoomWe still need several key pieces of furniture to complete our room. If you are able to build or purchase these items, we would be tremendously grateful for your support.

Fill the ShelvesThere are so many wonderful stories that we look forward to sharing with the children. We have enough to get started, but additional stories and support resources would help fill the shelves so the children can explore and learn as much as possible.
